On Saturday morning we travelled to the north of Cape Town, a forty-five minute journey, to visit Stellenbosch, where the weekly organic market is held. This is also the place where the Biodynamic Agricultural Association of Southern Africa is based, the place where we were planning to meet with the growers.
Since the meeting was scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Maurice made use of the 3 hours ahead of us to visit all of the growers present and to invite them to participate. Eric began to film the market and I took some photographs myself.
I then spent an hour with dried olives and a highly interesting personality, a director of development and associate director of Future Energies, a society that initiates many projects, such as biodynamic micro-farms, and that is at the origin of many social and economic initiatives in South Africa: Thierry Revert.
At the end of the market, we placed under a canvas what we had brought to welcome the growers, and our first experience was about to begin…
